Best Personal Hygiene Tips Everyone Should Follow

Having good hygiene will not only make you look more excellent, but it will also make you feel better and more comfortable. Staying clean is quite easy and takes very little time, so don’t neglect it. If you don’t know exactly what to do about your personal hygiene, here are some tips everyone should follow.

The classic shower

Taking a daily bath will not only leave you smelling sweet and feeling fresh, but it will also remove dead skin cells and prevent many different infections and skin irritations. When shopping for a shower gel, make sure to opt for a type that’s gentle on the skin and helps maintain a healthy pH balance. Also, make sure to shower with lukewarm water.



Clean your ears

Don’t forget to take care of your ears. After you have a bath, use cotton buds on the outside of your ear for gentle cleaning. The inside is best cleaned with irrigation. All of these hygiene steps prevent ear irritation and protect your ears from infections and other health issues.

Oral hygiene

If you often notice your breath smells less than fresh, you should take better care of your mouth and teeth. Get a toothbrush and some toothpaste and brush your teeth two or three times a day, and don’t neglect your tongue.  Also, don’t forget to floss and use mouthwash. They are essential because they freshen up your breath, remove food that causes gum disease and saves you from numerous visits to the dentist. If the unpleasant smell persists, however, the issue might be in your stomach, so pay attention.

Take care of your nails

Longer nails might look pretty, but the truth is they harbor many bacteria and make a significant obstacle while you perform your daily hygiene tasks. So, make sure to keep your fingernails and toenails neatly trimmed. This will prevent the spreading the germs and keep your fingers free of hangnails and infected nail beds. A great time to cut your nails is right after a bath when the nails are softer and smoother to trim and avoid injuries.

Genital hygiene

Genital hygiene is critical. Every day, try to wash your genitalia with mild soap and warm water. Women should focus on washing external genital and not try to clean the inside of the vagina. Make sure to use non-scented washers or soaps that will help maintain healthy pH values. For further hygiene improvement, make sure to change your tampon or pad every few hours and take extra care during menstruation. Men should also wash their genitals with warm water and soap. Don’t forget to retract the foreskin and rinse with water. Both genders should make sure not to use loofahs on their genitals. Washcloths tend to breed a lot of bacteria, so better use clean fingers and water.

Invest in a bidet

Bidets are a fantastic way to improve your personal hygiene. The gentle spray from the bidet will remove any residue left on your skin, and you’ll feel clean and fresh after every bathroom use. They are mainly significant if you have any skin irritations or conditions that benefit from soothing warm water and pristine hygiene. The great thing is that you don’t need extra space in your bathroom. For instance, if you invest in a high-quality Australian bidet, it can be attached directly to your toilet. It’s convenient and cost-effective.



Proper foot care

If you want to improve your foot hygiene and prevent odors, make sure to wash your feet and go between the toes properly. Also, wear high-quality moisture-wicking socks and let your feet breathe when you’re at home. All of this will help you get rid of fungus and nasty odors.

If you use these hygiene tips, you’ll feel more confident, healthy and clean. So, don’t be lazy and practice them every day.
