How to train and finish your first 5k race

train finish Why start running anyway?

My intentions of writing this book are honest and they come from the heart.

This book is written for the people who have never practiced the wonderful act of running on a conscious level.

My honest hope is that, with this book, I will inspire people to start running. Running is the only athletic activity that someone could truly say we were born to do. If, providing of course, we don’t have a serious medical condition.

Running is what kept us safe from beasts in the jungle. Running is what helped us find food when the vegetation of the planet became scarce and we had to start hunting animals to supplement.

Our brain, this wonderful organ, is still hardwired to tell the body to run whenever there is a need for it.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to start running anyway? I mean, running is very tiring. It actually requires a lot of physical effort. Effort that will make you sweaty and often dirty. Dirty because either you are running on dirt roads where you get muddy or you are running in a city. In the city you will be breathing all those unhealthy fumes from the cars passing you by on the road every 2 seconds.

Also, the worst part after you finished with all the sweating and trying to avoid being killed by crazy drivers, after your body cools down, it will start aching everywhere feeling like you were hit by a truck. You will feel like your lungs are ready to explode because they cannot handle the sheer quantity of oxygen you need to overcome the physical activity you just did, or feel like someone is reaching into your chest and trying to pull your lungs out…
