Summer Skincare Tips

Summer is the best season to have fun in the sun, but it’s also the time when your skin requires extra care to stay flawless and protected. Breakouts on oily skin, rashes on the sensitive skin, and additional dry patches on the bare skin are just some of the problems that may worsen unless you treat your skin with enough attention during hot summer months. Here’s how you can quickly get that flawless, glowing skin with only a few easy steps.

Exfoliate

The first in a line of religious steps you need to take on your road to radiant skin is exfoliation. Dead skin cells should not reside on your body, so make sure you exfoliate them at least once a week. Twice would be even better, to avoid your skin looking dull and dry, but if your skin is sensitive, then once a week will suffice. This step will prepare your skin for future sunbathing and will enable your skin to absorb body moisturizers much faster.

Moisturize

Warmer weather calls for lightweight moisturizers. That’s why you should replace the heavy body butter you used during winter with light, fast absorbing lotions or gels, which will nourish your skin and prevent it from drying out. You’ll achieve the best results if you use the cream immediately after you’ve dried yourself from a shower, to seal in the moisture your body soaked in.

Summer Skincare Tips

Slather on SPF

This should go without saying ‒ applying a lotion with an SPF is a must every time you walk outside the house. Whether you’re going to spend 10, 20 or 60 minutes outside, cover your face and body with protective sunscreen. Even the slightest exposure to the harmful UV rays can come with severe consequences, so don’t put your skin at risk, but slather on that SPF. Make sure you reapply it every time you go out of the swimming pool, because the water will wear the protection off, and you don’t want to risk getting sunburns.

Vegan skincare

If you’re thinking about trying out new skincare products, switching to vegan skincare can be a good choice. Products that are made without the use of ingredients from animals or animal by-products is what vegan skincare is all about. These products are particularly recommended for sensitive skin types since they nourish the skin without causing any irritation. They contain more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to repair and hydrate the skin, which is why you should try vegan skincare Esmi as your first choice, and see its miraculous effects for yourself.

Wear protective clothes

While sunscreen does a lot to protect your skin from the Sun, the protective wardrobe is also a necessary part of summer skincare. Wide brim hats and lightweight shirts will keep you comfortable enough, but also keep the harmful UV rays away from your skin. It’s essential that you protect your scalp, face and neck with a hat that has a brim at least 3 inches wide. Protect the sensitive skin around your eyes with some stylish sunglasses with strong UV protection.

Eat healthily

A healthy diet is a must if you want to avoid breakouts and flaky skin. Moreover, dense and salty food will only make you sluggish and dehydrate your body during hot weather. That’s why you should eat seasonal fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, cucumber, raspberries, and lettuce in abundance, and avoid sugary drinks. Fruits and veggies will give you all the nutrients and anti-oxidants that your body needs, improve the immune system and decrease stress level in the body. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day to hydrate your skin from the inside, too.

Every season inclines to different skincare regimens. Summer is particularly demanding, as your skin tends to become exposed to various influences such as the sun, sea salt, and sand, which will only make it dry and dull unless you take good care of it. Therefore, make sure you follow the previously mentioned tips if you want to have glowing skin all summer long.
